Wings Winter Cup 2025 – Rhythmic Gymnastics at Moate Sports & Recreation Centre

The Winter Cup 2025, hosted by Wings Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, took place on the first weekend of December at Moate Sports & Recreation Centre, welcoming hundreds of families and supporters for a celebration of rhythmic gymnastics.

The event brought together gymnasts from across the Special Olympics Squad, Competitive Squad, Development Squad, Cheerleading Squad, and Recreational Programme, highlighting participation across all ages, abilities, and levels.

Building Progress and Community

With over 50 gymnasts competing, the Winter Cup provided an important opportunity to assess routines ahead of the 2026 season, establish performance benchmarks, and support athlete development. Just as importantly, the event strengthened community connections and showcased the Midlands as a growing hub for rhythmic gymnastics.

International Judges from Spain

A key highlight of the Winter Cup 2025 was the presence of international judges from Spain, including Julia Lapuerta, an experienced judge who has officiated at FIG events such as the World Challenge Cup 2017.

Their involvement raised judging standards, ensured fairness and consistency, and provided athletes and coaches with valuable, constructive feedback aligned with international criteria.
